05/01/2008You've seen us pedaling around Newburyport, up the hill of State Street, and on our way to Plum Island. You've remarked about our strength and how hard it must be to haul riders around town. Now it's your turn. Come test your skills and experience what it's like to pedal a pedicab at the 2008 Newburyport Pedicab and Anna Jaques Hospital's "King of the Pedicabs Challenge" -- premiering this year at Newburyport's Yankee Homecoming Festival.

You've seen us pedaling around town, up the hill of State Street, and on our way to Plum Island. You've remarked about our strength and how hard it must be to haul riders around town. Now it's your turn. Come test your skills and experience what it's like to pedal a pedicab at the 2008 Newburyport Pedicab and Anna Jaques Hospital's "King of the Pedicabs Challenge."
The King of the Pedicabs challenge will consist of a single-elimination multi-heat race where the winner is crowned "King of the Pedicabs." Parents, grandparents, friends, or anyone who's willing will have the opportunity to pedal their children (...if you don't have any, we can provide them!) in a race a short distance around the Bartlett Mall. Race against your neighbors, friends, or even our seasoned pedicab drivers. Prizes provided by Anna Jaques Hospital will be awarded to winners. Fun for all! Arrive at The Bartlett Mall prior to 2:30 on Sunday July 27th and we'll assign you a pedicab. Then the races will begin! Come see if you've got what it takes to be the King of the Pedicabs.
