Pedicabs in Anna Jaques Hospital Torch Parade Through Downtown Newburyport

03/02/2010

Anna Jaques Hospital launched a Heart Healthy Torch campaign that kicked off in Newburyport with a parade through downtown featuring our pedicabs.

On Saturday February 13, Anna Jaques Hospital in conjunction with The Tannery launched a special Heart Healthy Torch campaign to shed light on heart disease in our community. To kick off the campaign, our fleet of pedicabs joined local heart disease survivors, family, and civic leaders in a parade across Newburyport.

The torch was then carried over 35 miles between Newburyport, Newbury, Rowley, Georgetown, West Newbury, Salisbury, and Amesbury by heart disease survivors, elected officials, community volunteers, and professional runners. Finally, it arrived back in Newburyport when The Tannery started its Lace Up & Shape Up Challenge - an incentivized challenge to help community members lose weight.

We were proud to not only be a part of such a fun campaign, but to be partnered with two forward-thinking community organizations with missions to better the greater Newburyport community. After all, that's why we started Newburyport Pedicab.
